It is not an insurance policy like homeowners coverage and it is not a guaranteed replacement or repair coverage.
What it is, is a helping hand when you need it most. When you move in to that "new home", most times you have had limited access to the home until you actually get the keys in hand. Sure, you have had an inspection, and that is a definite help through the process, but what about after it's yours? You never know what to expect or what may come up. A home warranty is there to help ease the burden of many unknown issues that just happen. It was just fine when you woke up today, but now something is wrong. What now? Instead of bearing the entire cost out of pocket, an investment in a home warranty may help alleviate some of the financial burden. Home warranty protection plans are offered in many different areas and many times, the seller will agree to pay for the first year on your behalf as a buyer. This means for that first year, you have some extra coverage. Take some time to look over a few of the popular companies that provide this coverage in our area and decide if a Home Warranty is right for you. Below, you can click on the logos and it will take you more in depth into that particular company, what they cover and the cost for that coverage. I hope this helps you make a more informed decision when it comes to the home warranty aspect of your purchase.

America's Preferred® Home Warranty, Inc
A new way to look at a home warranty:
Choose your own contractor! That's right, you get to choose who does the work for you. First, make sure the item is covered by your plan. Schedule an appointment with the contractor of your choice. Once the contractor arrives, they must first diagnose the problem. Before they do any work, call APHW with the diagnosis. The customer service representative will speak to you and the contractor to determine and approve the dollar amount covered by your warranty plan. The contractor will then make the needed repair(s). While on the phone, the APHW customer service representative will make sure that arrangements for payments are made. You will receive a follow up call after the repair is completed to make sure you are completely satisfied with the work that was done. |
